With the price to play hockey, and just about everything else going up, junior leagues are continuing to deal with a dwindling player pool, making recruiting tougher than it ever has before.
Commissioner of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League Marc Franche called it a COVID hangover.
Franche says the benches at the higher levels will always be full, but it’s becoming a harder feat to accomplish.
Franche is in his third season as league commissioner.
