National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is Saturday and the Upper Canada District School Board is encouraging staff and students to wear orange to show support for survivors of the residential school system tomorrow.
Orange Shirt Day will take place across all UCDSB schools, and guest speakers will be brought in to schools.
For example, Almonte District High School is holding a smudging ceremony, while each class from Drummond Central School have been participating in a different activity all week using First Nations, Métis, and Inuit resources, with their finished product creating a banner to be displayed tomorrow.
