Ontario pharmacies are getting even more responsibilities after the province announced six additional conditions they can treat on Monday.
It’s a bid to lighten the workload for hospitals and level out the healthcare ecosystem.
Perth Pharmasave and Tay River Medical Pharmacy Co-Owner and Pharmacist Becky Bellamy says it does make their days busier, but it’s services they’re quite happy to provide their customers.
Bellamy says this program has only been beneficial to their customers.
The six added conditions are added to the 13 pharmacies have been handling since January. Among them, acne, nausea related to pregnancy, and diaper rash.
The province says 89% of Ontario pharmacies have opted into the program and over 400,000 assessments have been made since January.
