New Guidance available for Family Doctors to Screen and Diagnose Alcohol Use Disorder

Guidance is now available for Canadian family doctors to help screen and diagnose high-risk drinking and alcohol use disorder.

The guideline warns against prescribing certain antidepressants without first ruling out alcohol use disorder as specific antidepressants can induce cravings for booze or be harmful in other ways.
