We’re now halfway through the EOJHL season and Lake 88 asked local coaches to give an assessment of how they feel their season has gone to this point.
The Perth Blue Wings sit in last place in the Richardson Division with a record of 7-13-2.
Head Coach and Co-Owner Bryan Greer was blunt with his evaluation.
Evan Malherbe carries a 4-7-1 record this season with a 0.905 sv%, a 3.77 Goals Against Average (GAA), and one shutout.
Dom Amodeo is 3-6-1 with an 0.885 sv% with a 4.67 GAA.
Greer said the psyche in the locker room isn’t strong right now and they’ve had to alter their approach.
There’s certainly time and room to move up in the standings and find their way into a playoff spot.
As of December 4th, Perth sits four points behind the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears, who have a game in hand, for fourth place in the division.
The Blue Wings are coming off a Barkley Cup championship, but ice almost an entirely new team with young players as they build towards a foundation for another championship run in the future.
