We’ve just passed the halfway mark of the EOJHL season so we’re checking in with local coaches on how they’d assess their progress to date.
On Monday, we took a look at the Perth Blue Wings and today it’s the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears.
The Bears have been clawing back from a rough start, which has Head Coach J.B Ryan optimistic for continued success in the back half.
He’s seen promising signs during their recent uptick of shared scoring and contributions, and pointed to the two pillars he feels he has in net as a reason for their recent success.
Warren Halpenny has posted a 7-6 record with a 0.921 sv% and 2.59 GAA.
Matthew Saari is 3-5 with a 0.877 sv% and 4.21 GAA with one shutout.
The Jr. Bears have won five straight games to sit in fourth place in the Richardson Division with 10 wins in 21 games.
