A mosaic is unveiled in Lanark County
Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, a day to remember the 14 victims of the Polytechnique Montreal massacre in 1989, and all women who have become victims of violent crime.
It’s also a day to take action to prevent it. Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says that our county has come a long way.
There will be two local vigils hosted by Interval House.
One is at 3pm at the new mosaic in remembrance of victims of violence in Smiths Falls.
The other is at the memorial outside the Crystal Palace in Perth at 6pm.
