Tay Valley Township approved its 2024 budget last week.
The tax rate increase of 4.7% equals to about $69 more per year on a $300,000 property.
The total tax requirement has eclipsed $ 7 million, which is an increase of about $400,000 from 2023.
A plethora of infrastructure renewal projects are slated for 2024 including over $2.3 million in road and bridge projects, and $842,000 for a tandem snowplow, two fire pumper trucks, a backhoe and brush chipper.
Operational increases include increased costs in hydro, natural gas, insurance, salaries and benefits, and contracted services.
