The Blakeney Bridge contract’s been awarded to ACROW Limited bfor $1.238 million to supply the two lane replacement bridge.
The project in its entirety is estimated at just over $4 million.
Earlier last month, Public Works Manager Sean Derouin provided a rough timeline for county council.
The county’s also brought in a landscape consultant to provide a design for a potential viewing platform on the large island as an added bonus to the space.
Mississippi Mills would be responsible for the cost of that construction should the platform move forward, just like they are paying $180,000 for the bridge widening from 7.3 to 7.9 metres to accommodate pedestrians.
