Emergency Departments at both sites of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital are seeing an extremely high number of patients for respiratory illnesses.
This has resulted in the number of patients needing a bed currently exceeding the number of beds available. This inpatient pressure is occurring at both sites of the hospital.
The PSFDH Health Care Team continues to assess each person and treat the sickest patients first. This means that some patients may experience a longer wait.
