The month of January has been declared “Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month” across Canada.
The month will raise awareness about cancers linked to firefighting and what firefighters and the public can do to help prevent these cancers in our brave first-responders.
Between 2005 and 2016, 86% of occupational fatality claims for Canadian firefighters were linked to cancer.
