Mississippi Mills has issued an update on efforts to stabilize the structure at 38 Main Street East in Almonte.
On December 22nd the property owner of the historic site was told to provide the Town with a plan prepared by a Professional Engineer to stabilize the building’s Bell Tower, or have the municipality do it at the owner’s expense.
When the Town didn’t hear back, it went ahead with Plan B.
Work is expected to begin next week and is anticipated to take approximately one week to finish.
The matter has been a big issue since November and it caused the municipality to reroute the Santa Claus Parade in Almonte because of it.
