January marks the inaugural “Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month” across Canada.
Perth Fire Chief Trevor Choffe says research shows that the disease has become more frequent within the national ranks.
The Chief says that methods have changed over the years to help prevent being exposed to cancer causing agents and educating firefighters about the risks helps a great deal.
Choffe tells us the statistics are shocking, and have been put on public display.
