You don’t need to wait for the Rideau Canal to open up, you can now lace them up at the Beckwith Skating Trail.
The 1km loop situated at Beckwith Park behind the rec complex is open for the season.
There are benches to put on your skates and the trail is conducive to the always varying outdoor conditions.
The trail is operating on a Green-Yellow-Red colouring code chart for maintenance so make sure you keep an eye out for that at the entrance to tell you the state of it.
