The town of Perth is clarifying how they’re removing snowbanks.
In a statement they say they’re focusing on clearing away the large snow banks at the ends of the streets in specific cul-de-sacs.
So, they won’t be removing the snow banks along the entire length of those streets just yet.
You should also avoid parking there until the work is done.
Here’s where they have been and will be working in the near future:
– Argyle Ave.
– Inverness Ave.
– Ridgeview Pl.
– Ivey Pl.
– Scott Cres.
– Lewis St. Dead End
– Burchell Blvd.
– Jessie Dr.
– Hughes Cres.

Normally, Perth does a great job of removing snowbanks but, after the last storm, the clearing efforts, at least in my opinion, were not up to their usual quality. Snowbanks along the main street were only half removed. There were or are still many treacherous lumps and areas where exiting a car is difficult. And, after the last snowfall, our street had its bank removed, and then the street plow “sped” by and immediately created a replacement bank of ice leaving homeowners to deal with a second bank. The homeowners did so but, the street plow then took another run and replaced the bank yet again with slush and ice that home snowblowers and the like cannot remove. Must be a new crew for snow removal or, a reduced budget.
