Tuesday, February 5th is Safer Internet day, a day that organizations around the world join forces to help make the online world a safer place for young people.
Smiths Falls Constable Sean Keogan says parents need to be involved because predators can be anywhere online.
The number one thing he says we need to do as parents is communicate with our kids. Let them know to never speak with strangers online one on and one, and monitor their activities closely.
The Constable adds that impressionable young minds can sometimes be fooled by people they meet online.
There are several resources to help you start the conversation with your kids.
