The MyView Film Festival is back for its ninth year. It showcases talented youth from across our listening area as they make short films, competing for prizes.
Rebecca Shams is a Health Promoter with the Health Unit and is a committee member for the festival. She says it’s open to youth 10-24.
They have had an seemingly endless list of film subjects in the past such as anti-bullying, anti-substance abuse, post secondary education, and appreciating the little things in life to name but a few.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Linna Li says its a great way for youth to be creative and share their ideas.
The deadline for submissions is May 1st. Then the annual awards ceremony takes place in June where $5,000 in prizes is up for grabs across several categories including by age.
