The proposed development (2023)
On Monday the Ontario Land Tribunal held a second case management conference on the proposed Caivan Homes 940 unit development on the Perth Golf Course lands.
The short meeting lasted less than 30 minutes.
It also didn’t provide any progress in Caivan’s appeal to the Land Tribunal.
The lawyer for Caivan stated his client was open to mediation but their application wouldn’t be modified because there was no indication that any changes would be accepted by the Town of Perth or Lanark County.
Lawyers for the Town and the County stated they couldn’t proceed without knowing the specifics of any possible amendments.
No further meetings were scheduled until the full hearing begins in August.

Isn’t it ironic how the town is, on Youtube and other forms of media, currently promoting itself as the place to live, the place to grow and the place to invest but, when progress raises its ugly ( to some Perthites ) head, the town reverts to ostrich mode and does everything it can to ignore the march of time. Perth may well be lovely but, as the years go by, Perth falls further and further behind. 2024? Nope, Perth wishes to go back to 1924.
