The snowfall means we have to get it cleared from our driveways, paths and sidewalks and that’s quite the cardio workout.
The Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Linna Li says pace yourself.
Dr. Li says while you’re at it, take frequent breaks.
If you suspect you’re having a heart attack, call 9-1-1.
The Doctor also says when it comes to clearing it, don’t try to be a hero.
Don’t over exert yourself, take breaks and keep your heart health in mind. And make sure you have a good shovel and use a method so you don’t hurt your back.
Again, if you start to notice signs of a heart attack call for help right away.
