Smiths Falls Fire Chief Rick Chesebrough (cheese-bro) feels nothing needs to be done about the train horn which sounds at the Railway Museum.
Responding to a pair of letters from resident Chris Kowalewski at the latetst committee of the whole, the chief feels the horn does not contravene the noise by-law as the letters claim because museum staff use it appropriately.
In one letter to staff, Kowalewski states the horn is QUOTE “not a safety feature, but rather a frivolous embellishment to a joy-ride,” and proposed alternative options.
The horn sounds in six minute intervals when the train both stops and begins movement while groups are on or about to board the train.
