Legislation brought to the table in Queens Park last weekby Lisa Thompson seeks to modernize the work of veterinarians.
The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Rural Affairs says previous legislation required updating due to changing needs.
Thompson says this legislation works in tandem with exisiting laws, which includes addressing the shortage of veterinary professionals.
Discussions will continue with members of government stakeholders as the legislation is finalized.
