If you’re looking to learn how to code, Beckwith Recreation is offering free online courses to anyone interested in learning the basics of six coding languages.
The courses are on Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, Processing JS and Lynx Coding at https://beckwithtechcamp.com.
Possible applications are students wanting to do enrichment activities beyond the Ontario Math expectations for coding, youth interested in coding, adults interested in continuing education, and professionals needing to upgrade their basic programming skills.
Each course is designed to be done independently at home and through video-based instruction, will walk you through how to setup an account and code the basic instructions of each language in six to eight 30 minute sessions. By the end of the course, you will create a simple video game or website page.
There’s also a Facebook page set up where you can ask questions if you get stuck.
