2 – Man convicted of Femicide in Ottawa Valley rampage dies in prison
The man who murdered three Ottawa Valley women that sparked an inquest to end intimate partner violence (IPV) in Ontario, has died. Basil Borutski died in custody of apparent natural causes at Milhaven Institution in Bath. The 66 year-old was convicted of killing his ex partners Nathalie Warmerdam, Anastasia Kuzyk, and Carol Culleton over one September day in 2015.

3 – Perth wants to fix your plow-damaged lawn
The Town of Perth wants to know if your lawn get damaged due to winter maintenance activities, like street or sidewalk plowing. Crews will be out later this month to repair affected areas.

4 – County funding for homelessness announced
The 2024-25 funding for Lanark County’s Homelessness Prevention Program has been announced. The province has allocated just under $2.5 million for the county’s services this year.

5 – One in custody after suspicious grass fires set
Several grass fires just east of Carleton Place were put out by Carleton Place and Beckwith Fire departments Monday afternoon. Multiple 9-1-1 calls came in about 1 pm about the fires off of Highway 7.
