COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Local vet says check your pets for ticks after every walk!

Tick season is in full effect.

We were lucky enough to have well-known, local veterinarian Dr Steve Scott on a recent edition of 88.1 myFM’s All About the House.

He says there are many ways we can protect our pets from the little invaders.

He says there is a vaccine out there too that can help, but that’s just the start.

Make sure you give your pets a check as soon as you get in from a walk, especially if you’ve been in a grassy area. And if you do see a tick, Dr. Scott says act right away.

Another friendly reminder when it comes to checks? Make sure you’re clear of ticks too. Don’t forget to protect yourself.
