An equivalent of 30 full-time employees is the staffing shortage at the Lanark Lodge.
That leads to a vicious cycle according to interim director of long-term care Shawna Stone.
Councillor Ed McPherson said he’s not comfortable accepting healthcare shortages as status quo because it hurts people.
The lodge’s offered positions to 15 candidates through their international recruitment efforts to try and cut into the gap.
