Looby Builders Limited were the successful bidders for the Blakeney Bridge contract after Lanark County council approved their submission Wednesday night.
The company has lots of experience in bridge work, which gave Public Works Manager Sean Derouin a vote of confidence.
Their bid came in at just over $3 million, the lowest of all three received.
The project’s exceeded the outlined budget by about $420,000. Derouin said there’s a couple reasons why.
Having already agreed to cover about half that shortfall at a previous meeting, council voted again to pay the rest by way of any 2024 budget surplus or from reserves.
