When released from incarceration after battling with substance abuse, Spencer Kell opened up the Manie Daniels Rehabilitation Centre in Maberly.
Named after his cellmate who died shortly after his release from an overdose, Kell told myFM’s Lynda D’Aoust who they’re looking to help.
Kell wants the courts to consider his centre as an alternative to jail, so the individuals can work on fighting their addiction and as a response, lower the crime rate.
The renovation work on the home aligns with their overall intentions.
