The annual Pride Parade takes place in Perth this Saturday as part of the kickoff to Pride Month, which will extend beyond June.
Queer Connection Lanark County’s Elizabeth Snyder says celebrating Pride is a chance to reflect on how things have changed here in Lanark and look to the future.
The Parade itself gets under way at 3:30 in Perth. It travels from the Stewart School through town. There will be road closures in effect with the OPP guiding the way.
Schneider says all are welcome at the celebration at its conclusion in Last Duel Park.
She says its something we can do in Canada, and she notes she can’t live life the way she does in 66 countries, where it’s illegal.
There’s plenty more information about upcoming events on the Queer Connection Lanark County website found here.
