Here’s what’s going on:
Lanark County’s Pride Month has been extended beyond the month of June, but things kick off in a big way today. The roll out Pride flag raisings begin at the Almonte Textile Museum at 1, then head to Carleton Place at Sinclair Square for 2, and wrap up at the new Town Square in Smiths Falls at 2:30.
The Perth Pride Parade gets underway at 3:30. Cheer on the floats and walkers as they make their way from the Stewart School to Last Duel Park, where a massive celebration is planned. All are welcome!
Join Heritage House Museum in Smiths Falls today to celebrate the opening of the exhibit Beatlemania: Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of RCA Pressing Beatles records in Smiths Falls. The Lanark Legion is hosting a Kitchen Reno Fundraiser featuring music by The Continentals today starting at 2pm. It’s $10.00 per person, with proceeds going to the reno.
The second annual Pull the Pumper event is set for today in Smiths Falls at the Youth Arena. There will be a vendor’s market, kids’ zone, community demonstrations, and a BBQ. It starts at 11:00, then teams get set to actually pull the town’s pump truck with a rope at 2:15. All are welcome!
St. Mary’s Anglican Church Newboro is having their annual PLANT and BAKE sale, on Saturday, June 1st. at the Newboro Community Hall from 9 to noon.
You’re invited to the Smiths Falls Flying Club Breakfast tomorrow from 8am-11am, at Smiths Falls Airport. Enjoy a $10 breakfast, free for kids under 12. On Sunday it’s Hike for Hospice. Walk, run and pledge to support compassionate care for anyone at end-of-life wherever they call home. Organize a team, join your friends and neighbours, or walk solo in support of hospice care in your community. Gather at the Crystal Palace in Perth. There’s a fiddle service at St George’s Anglican Church, on Tatlock Rd Clayton tomorrow. The musical prelude begins at 10am, worship service accompanied by fiddles at 10:30. Lunch following. Information 613-256-9010.
The Perth Civitan Club is holding their annual CHEO Foundation Breakfast tomorrow from 8am til noon at the Civitan Club on Hwy 43. Breakfast is by donation to CHEO, and the menu includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, toast, coffee, juice and local maple syrup. All proceeds go to the Children’s Hospital.

You’re invited to the Watson’s Corners Community Hall Open House & Dalhousie Library/Museum Grand Reopening tomorrow. It’s a celebration of the 77 year-old community hall and 196 year old historic library (the oldest rural library in Ontario).
