The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a resident of Beckwith Township with impaired driving after a single-vehicle accident.
Lanark officers went to Perth Road in Beckwith Township just before 9:45 p.m. on May 30, 2024, when a car was reported to have driven into a ditch. No one was injured.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Lanark Detachment for testing.
As a result, Curtis Wright, age 61, has been charged with driving while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 8, 2024. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
