We are experiencing the first one-day heat event of the season.
High temperatures today will reach 31 to 32 degrees Celsius. The humidex will have it feeling more like 37, with overnight lows around 20 degrees Celsius early Thursday morning.
The hot conditions can be dangerous, especially for those not used to the heat.
Everyone is at risk, but older adults, infants and young children, and people with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable. It is advised to drink plenty of cool liquids before feeling thirsty and stay cool by dressing appropriately for the weather and spending more time in cool places.
Please keep an eye on alerts and forecasts from Environment Canada shared on 88.1 myFM.
To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
Please stay safe and take precautions during the heat event.
