A series of cross-province hearings on the state of medical care in Ontario begins tomorrow (June 8th).
The events are hosted by the Ontario Health Coalition and regional partners, and the hope is that they will lead to recommendations for the future of our local hospitals, including small, rural and Northern community hospitals.
The hearings provide a chance for stakeholders to share their thoughts and concerns, and the results will be included in a report with recommendations going forward.
Hearings, which are open to all Ontario residents, will be held with both online (Zoom) and in-person options, and presenters will be able to speak for a maximum of seven minutes.
To make a verbal presentation and give your input at the hearings, you must register by 5PM today here.
There are two hearings in our area; both are happening Thursday, June 13th.
The Hearing at the Almonte Civitan Hall (500 Almonte Street)- for Almonte, Mississippi Mills, Arnprior, and Renfrew County residents happens from Noon to 2PM.
You can also link by ZOOM here.
The Hearing at the Perth & District Union Public Library, (Frizell Room), 30 Herriott St. Perth is from 345PM to 515PM. You can also link by ZOOM here.
You may also submit written or spoken statements on your experiences and concerns to an expert, non-partisan panel. The deadline for written submissions to the panel is Thursday, June 20th at 5PM.
