It was an awesome Saturday morning for the KidFish event in the Town of Perth. The event celebrates one of the most popular activities in our listening area over the summer months.
Over 140 kids dotted the banks of the Tay, to take part in the fun-filled fishing day.
Organizers, Perth Fire Services, offered a big thank you goes out to everyone who joined and to the following groups and individuals:
- Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244 Perth-Upon-Tay for providing the grounds and volunteers to BBQ lunch.
- Shimano and Lucky Strike, via Big Jim McLaughlan, for donating fishing lures, swag, rod and reel, and other goodies.
- Ministry of Natural Resources for attending and giving helpful tips and tricks.
- Robert Pemberton, the student volunteer.
- Dodds & Erwin for lending the tank.
The event took place on one of the province’s Free Fishing Weekend, which allows Ontarians to fish license-free for a weekend, as long as they follow the provincial angling rules.
