Perth’s Climate Change Advisory Panel offered an update on its recent efforts.
They report the recent Trashure Hunt was a huge success, with volunteers collecting 800 pounds of trash from local streets and parks. Several eco-conscious groups shared their knowledge and actions during the event. Participants also enjoyed a BBQ and delicious food from The Table.
At the Festival of the Maples, tree plantings were distributed to replace those lost in recent storms.
The Re-Use Centre at the Perth Landfill has reopened for the season. It will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays until October 12.
Additionally, the Panel welcomed two new members, who bring fresh ideas and are exploring new initiatives to keep Perth healthy and resilient against changing weather patterns.
All these initiatives are volunteer-led.
