Jodi Empey is now Smiths Falls Police Chief after joining the service in 1994.
She says her focus is on ensuring they’re fully equipped to do their jobs properly.

She never thought her career would take her this far but began enjoying the administrative side of policing when she became a Sergeant.
Empey becomes the first ever woman police chief for Smiths Falls, after serving as deputy chief under Mark MacGillivray and acting chief following his retirement.
