The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth-area resident with impaired driving and making threats.
On July 10, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Lanark officers responded to a report that a male had made threats and then left a location on Christie Lake Road in Tay Valley Township. Officers located the male at a home in the area, where he was arrested and transported to the Lanark Detachment for testing.
Hunter Fielding, age 21, has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to damage property, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and operation while impaired by alcohol.
Fielding was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 5, 2024. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. The OPP continues to remind residents of the serious consequences of impaired driving and making threats.
