Lanark County OPP has charged a 33-year-old Perth resident with impaired driving.
On July 12, 2024, just before 7:00 p.m., Lanark officers responded to reports of an erratic driver on Highway 7, east of Perth. Upon locating the vehicle, officers arrested the driver and transported her to the Lanark Detachment for testing.
Following the investigation, the woman has been charged with two counts: Operation while impaired by alcohol and Operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 12, 2024. Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension program, and her vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
The OPP continues to remind residents of the serious consequences of impaired driving and urges everyone to make responsible choices to ensure road safety.
