The Town of Smiths Falls announces the fall intake for the 2024 Community Improvement Program (CIP). This program helps improve accessibility, create affordable rental units, redevelop potentially contaminated properties, and enhance downtown commercial buildings.
The CIP provides funding to eligible property owners, business owners, and tenants, reducing costs for improvements. Benefits include enhanced streetscapes, revitalized buildings, and increased tourism.
Downtown businesses and property owners are encouraged to apply by August 31, 2024, or start planning for 2025 projects. Pre-consultations with planning staff are required before applying.
