Western University’s Northern Tornadoes Project confirms a tornado touched down in our listening area last night.
At least two tornadoes: one south-west of Perth in Rideau Ferry and one in Brossard, Que., touched down.
The project’s David Sills reported damage across our region.
Environment Canada had issued weather warnings for Lanark and Leeds and advised people to take cover.
The weather agency says radar confirmed a tornado seven kilometers southwest of Perth.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but hundreds remain without power this morning.
Hydro One hopes to have the outages resolved by mid to late afternoon.
