The Smiths Falls Police Service is putting out a warning over cryptocurrency scams after some local victims lost tens of thousands of dollars.
One even lost more than $150,000.
Constable Sean Keogan says the problem is everything looks legit.
In most cases there’s no way to get it back.
The harsh realty is the grim realization that your money is gone.
Keogan says if its too good to be true, it is. He says only invest with people who you can meet. And do your research.
