The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding motorists to obey the Move Over Law.
Drivers must be safe and attentive, especially around emergency vehicles and tow trucks on the roadside. The law requires drivers to slow down and move over a lane when it is safe to do so.
Following these guidelines not only ensures compliance with the law but also provides a safe working space for police and emergency workers. It helps those involved in collisions or stranded on the roadside.
The OPP is constantly enforcing the law, monitoring drivers near emergency vehicles and tow trucks. They will ensure motorists follow the move-over law and will also keep an eye out for aggressive, inattentive, and impaired drivers, as well as those not wearing seat belts.
Non-compliance with these laws can lead to road fatalities.
