Recommendation no. 83 from the jury in the inquest into ending IPV in Ontario says the federal government implement the National Action Plan on Gender-based Violence in a timely manner.
Lanark County Interval House’s Erin Lee has been looking at each of the recommendations for us. She says this has been in the works for a while now.
Those pillars are customized actions for each region, such as northern territories and rural communities. They hinge on successful collaborations between all levels of government.
Lee says communities such as those in Lanark County have shown that collaboration is possible and makes a significant difference.
Still, the fact that the National Action Plan on Gender-based Violence is in place and can evolve is a promising development.
