Three local organizations have secured provincial funding to initiate or expand programs for seniors.
The Township of Montague – $19,600 – This project will offer arts and culture and additional physical activity programs at little to no cost to 400 seniors in rural remote communities.
Watson’s Corners Community Hall $9,950 – This project will provide rural seniors with activities, such as the ‘Snaps and Chats’ photography program, ‘First Fridays’ lunch for low-income seniors and ‘Happy Hikers’ program that will offer participants a chance to be active and enjoy nature in a social setting.
Lanark Highlands Public Library Board – $14,406 – This project will offer weekly programs designed to target key areas to help 600 seniors stay active, healthy and engaged. Each week participants will explore timely topics on nutrition, movement, creativity and mental stimulation.
