Community Home Support Lanark County is looking for volunteers to carry on the incredible work they do in our county.
The organization has much on the go. They offer rides to medical appointments, hospice care, some home care, delivery of meals, and offer social programs to combat isolation.
Volunteer & Community Relations Coordinator Sam Fyfe says when you volunteer to help, you’re helping form a lifeline for their clients by forming a bond. She sites the hospice program as an example.
Fyfe says its easy to get started as a volunteer. There are certain steps they take to ensure everyone’s safety, but in the end the people stepping up just want to help.
All training is provided for whatever discipline you choose. Just call Sam at 613-267-6400 or email her at samf@CHSLC.ca to begin the application process.
