3M has been a part of the Perth Landscape for decades.
There are actually two factories along Highway 43 as you come into Perth. The first, built in 1981 makes Scotchbrite products, clearing everything from your kitchen to stripping gym floors. Other products are also made in that plant for the the auto industry and others.
Perth Site Manager Vicki Keuninckx says the other plant, built in 1982 makes one of 3Ms most popular products – tape. That includes everything from packing tape, filament tape, and lint rollers among many others. So if you see a 3M lint roller out there, and you purchase it you’re buying local.
Keuninckx says they’ve employed thousands over the years, with many staying for long stretches. She’s been there for 26 years. Being a safe, clean environment with modern technology and tools is also a draw.
She also says that is vital that 3M is out in the community giving back. They take part in several charitable campaigns every year.
