The Ontario government has unveiled the $200 million Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF), with applications open until October 29, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance local sports and recreation facilities across the province.
Municipalities, Indigenous communities, non-profit organizations, and (for new builds) for-profit entities are invited to apply. CSRIF offers funding through two streams:
- Facility Upgrades: Existing sports and recreation facilities can receive $150,000 to $1 million for repairs and upgrades to make them more accessible and state-of-the-art.
- New Builds: Communities looking to construct new or replace old facilities can apply for up to $10 million.
A webinar to explain the application process will be held this morning, August 27, at 11 a.m. Interested parties can register by emailing csrif@ontario.ca. A recorded session will be available in September 2024.
