Beckwith Township is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Volunteer Fire Department. Reeve Richard Kidd extended heartfelt congratulations to all current and former members, recognizing their commitment to the community.
Sixty years ago, volunteers from across Beckwith came together to form the first fire brigade. Despite having limited training and equipment, they shared a common goal: to provide fire protection for the township’s residents.
Over the decades, many volunteer firefighters have joined and served, helping the department grow into a well-respected force. Reeve Kidd expressed gratitude to all the firefighters, especially those who had the foresight to establish the department.
“The future of fire protection is in good hands thanks to the dedication of our volunteers,” Kidd said, reflecting on the department’s proud history and continued service to the community.
