Saturday, September 28th, marks Ontario’s “Test Your Smoke Alarm Day.” All Ontarians are encouraged to participate by checking their smoke alarms and learning more about fire safety and home escape planning.
This important initiative aims to raise awareness about the role of smoke alarms in preventing fire-related injuries and fatalities. Residents should ensure their smoke alarms are functioning properly by pressing the test button and replacing batteries as needed. You can also check the expiry date at the same time.
In addition to testing alarms, families are urged to create a home fire escape plan that includes designated meeting spots and escape routes.
