The Town of Smiths Falls has started developing a new Official Plan to guide community growth for the next 25 years. The plan will focus on key areas like new housing developments, business parks, infrastructure improvements, parks, and community spaces.
As part of this project, the Town is also working on its first-ever Transportation Master Plan.
With over 700 new homes approved since 2019, Mayor Shawn Pankow emphasized the importance of planning for the town’s future growth and ensuring a high quality of life for all residents.
The Town will host an open house on October 10, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the Youth Arena. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input on five key themes: transportation, downtown revitalization, housing, community spaces, and sustainability.
Dillon Consulting Limited is leading the project. For more information, visit the Town’s website or contact Marie Elmsley at melmsley@smithsfalls.ca.
