A concerned resident asked for a flashing crosswalk to be installed on Old Slys Road in Smiths Falls.
Manager of the Smiths Falls Curling and Squash Club Kathryn Baker-Reed says there’s been an increase in traffic for those making their way to the club, Lower Reach Park, the ball diamonds, soccer pitches, and the smiths falls heritage house museum.
Councillor Jay Brennan agreed.
Baker-Reed pitched the idea of a flashing crosswalk.
Baker-Reed says their club and the museum is hosting more events and weddings, while the club also aims to be a year-round facility with plans to offer camps next summer.
Council asked staff look at available options and come back with a report.
